i have a hatachi audio amplifier and only the left side will work?

Have you checked the stereo balance knob? Sometimes the knob is removed then replaced in the wrong way so it might show it is in balance but is not. Hoever if that's not the problem them most likely the right side amplifier is cooked. better to throw away the sytem then to relace them these days. You could try second hand stores for replacement.
