I was trying to determine the same belt spec as I was reconditioning the exact same model. The belt that was on it looked like a light weight replacement and didn't last long after I got the engine running. It was a Simplicity belt #1717146. It appeared to be the correct length as it would engage the auger when the engagement bail was actuated and allow for auger rotation stoppage and drive pulley belt slippage when the bail was released. It was however, not the correct design strength rating as it soon failed under extended usage and high load. There is a length coded in the belt part number so you should be able to cross reference a Gates "Power Rated" belt which are designed for these types of lawn and garden equipment. Regular automotive belts just can't take the power load and operating conditions of a snowblower.
