Crusader Condenser Dryer - does not blow hot air?

I have a Crusader Condenser Dryer, Model 37667, 240v 2750W, that has no longer blows hot air.

The fans are working, the drum rotates, the filters are clean, the condensate tray has been emptied, and the machine casing has been hoovered to remove all the dust.

I admit that my knowledge of tumble dryer electrics are limited so please forgive the following - checking various bits and pieces with a voltmeter/ammeter I measured the voltage and resistance on the two thermostats.

With the machine running, the left thermostat gave 240V and no resistance and the right thermostat gave 0V and no resistance.

With power off the resistance across the heating elements was measured as being nil.

Can anybody offer any suggestions as to what could be wrong, or something else which could be measured to provide an answer.

Thanks

Chris

I have a Hirunda and resetting the thermostats worked by pushing a paper clip in the hole between the terminals. I have heat!

follow advice of john august 2011- I tried this and it worked a treat.
If you remove all screws around the piece on the back, it's the one on the left as you look at it. It has a red dot on it. Make sure the dryer is UNPLUGED. (no i didnt forget to unplug it lol)

Thanks John for the tip.

On repair of our tumble dryer the overheat thermostat was type elth 261/pb. This was open circuit and I found I could reset it using a pin in the small hole in the back between the terminals. Pressing here resulted in a click as the device was reset. All ok therafter

I also have a crusader condensor dryer which was used for about six monthes befor moveing house, when i plugged the dryer in i found that this was not blowing hot air but working in every other way. I took the back panel off and found that the heating element had been damaged these parts are very easy to get hold of but be careful with the new one as it is very easy to crack.

Hi Chris,

I've had my dryer for about 9 years. I have had to replace the thermostats on the back of the dryer three times. They only cost about £5.
They are made by Creda. Any good repair agent will have them.
I cant find the part numbers but if you take them off the part number is on them

There is a third thermostat on the front.

All thermostats and elements ok ? and machine runs its likely the timer is defunct. about £30.
