My home is powered by a combi boiler, with no hot water tanks.
The tap on my kitchen sink is leaking and I need to remove it for repair or replacement.
The hot and cold water are combined in a mixer tap and I have determined that the hot water is leeking causing a drip from the tap.
What is the procedure for isolating the kitchen tap when there is no local isolation valves.
Turn the stop cock off, if you can't find one turn the water off on the street! You won't have to drain your cenral heating system just to change a tap washer!! There will be a slight leakage of water but thats just water held in the pipework.

no you wont have to drain the whole system,just turn the stopcock off & replace the washer on your tap or replace the tap

thanks hi-spec plumbing and heating, what I'm worried about is when I turn off the main stopcock, will I have to drain the whole system including the central heating, and if so what is the procedure for refilling the systems
