Cor! These questions are old. I have a PWR 1800 BVA leaf vacuum, and had it from new. I didn't know I had owned for so long, and now it is obsolete it seems. The cut out switch is not a thermal cut out switch, the machine isn't that sophisticated, it is a safety switch, to guard against running the motor with the cover or pick up tube off, and prevent silly people sticking their finger in the high speed impeller!
The switch, a micro type, has just become faulty on mine. The contacts are worn. The switch must be of a proprietary type, so I will strip my machine and see if I can locate one. I hate throwing otherwise good equipment away.

check there is not a blockage in the vac pipe as thats what was wrong with mine and it now vacs as well

I'm sorry its a year late, but I've been trying to find a thermal cut off switch for my blower. There should be separate fittings, a 2 part suction tube, that go where the bag would normally go when using it as a vac. The cover must be fitted in place of the vacuum tube or it will not work. Hope this helps, if anyone knows where I can get a thermal cut off switch, please let me know.
