I have a HP photosmart c4180 (about 1-1/2 years old), I have just recently had the same problem. First the paper started feeding crooked(ly?) and then the screen kept telling me there was a paper jam, but I had gotten it all out...kept getting that message, then the paper would feed through alright and then stop halfway and I would get "carriage jam"...over and over, but the carriage is moving freely. SOOO, I've powered up over and over, and now I'm getting the 805D1509 message and am being told to shut off and turn on again. Unfortunately that doesn't fix anything. The paper fed weird again, "paper jam"...but not really, not it's feeding straight but I keep getting the 805D1509 message. I am sick of going through these printers, I swear it's one a year and they aren't used that frequently. It makes me nuts...any ideas? I've even uninstalled and reinstalled and updated the software.
