Hi Again
I've opened my door, here's how.
I worked out where the bottom catch is, then I drilled four 8mm holes (inside of door) one above the other approx 10mm in from the edge of the door and just into the plate that the catch locates in. With a small chisel I broke through the remaining plate and the door opened. I was then able to remove the lock mechanism and took the bottom catch off as it was damaged at the lock end. I now just need to replace the cut up plate on the door frame and get a new catch - the door is working great without it for now anyway. I've cleaned up the holes on the door, filled them and painted the area white and you'd never know any difference.
Hope this helps?
