smear on drivers side windscreen?

I have throughly cleaned my windscreen with every cleaning product you can think of including windowlene, clay bar, washing up liquid EVERYTHING, changed the window wipers but I cannot get rid of really bad smears (which are very bad when it rains!!)on the drivers side. HELP!! My car is a Renault Clio
