i took them off and now the new ones have arrived i cannot remember which wires go where

Hi, I'm just diagnosing the same problem and have read advice on this and other sites that both switches shoujld be closed circuit.
My machine is a Creda Simplicity, and the switch on the left is the 36fxe14, and it has a green spot.
