Mend Renault Scenic Plate Started

My 53 plate Scenic has developed a knocking noise from the rear offside?

My 53 plate Renault Scenic has started making a knocking noise on the rear offside. It sounds like something is bashing against the bodywork from underneath (have checked contents of the boot and there's nothing rolling around). A check at KwikFit found nothing wrong with the exhaust or shocks. It happens at any speed but is worsened by going over bumps etc - really sounds like something has come loose and is just knocking the chassis. Any ideas before I take it to the garage tomorrow?

my 52 plate was the same, after numerous checks and getting nowhere it was finally discovered, a broken shock. they where checked but they where snapped in the middle, just hadnt seperated!

Our Scenic is doing exactly the same except the noise is rear nearside - after much looking and bouncing it up and down we discovered it is the strut/telescopic pole that opens and shuts the hatchback seems to be loose. Haven't worked out what to do about it yet so would be interested in hearing what your garage said.
