A couple of days ago I changed the battery on my van as I got in it one morning and it wouldn't turn over. The noise I got then was continuous 'cliking' but I got in it again this morning and again it wouldn't turn over but this time all the lights came on, glow plugs warmed up and everything but it when I turned the ignition it was a noise that I could best describe as like something was trying to move but was jammed.
check engine earth lead, i think it fastens on to one of top gearbox bolts, even if bolt feels tight,check lead is tight. if a wrong length gearbox bolt has been used lead will be loose.
