Remove the upper and lower cowls immediately behind the steering wheel (two screws from front, will need to turn the wheel to access and also using a flat bladed screw driver lift the plastic caps, three screws under the bottom cowl). Remove the airvents next to the door and in the centre of the dash(these are push fit, get two thin bladed knives and insert them either side of the vents, there are two clips each side, vent will then pull forward).
Remove the headlight switch using the same method as used for the vents.
LH side first, look into the hole where the vents came out you will see two large screws, further large screw behind the wiper stalk, these 3 screws hold the LH trim in place, also plastic clip below middle vent remove trim.
RH side look in hole that the vent and the lght switch came from remove two screws and a third screw that is 'behind' the indicator stalk, remove RH trim.
You will then see the 4 screws that hold the instrument cluster in. Remove these, ease instrument cluster forward, on the LH side is the plug for the MFD, use a small flat blade to lift the little clip and wiggle the plug out.Instrument cluster will now come out. At the back you will see a plastic disc that has a 'nut' type head on it with a small slot in the head, this is the bulb holder. Twist this out and fit new 501 bulb.
Then rebuild.
