I need to open the machine to see if there is a problem with the stitch selector it wont snap into place for the zigzag stitch. I have no idea how to take the machine apart to look inside. Can you give me any help my manual is loooooong gone after 5 moves.
Your problem is the cam gear on selector. Open machine by removing single screw from back of machine under carry handle. Lift handle and remove screw. Back has to be pryed slightly from machine and lifted off 4 slide pins. You will see black round cam. On it you will see a lockdown lever that holds cam when stitch is selected. That lever is binding on shaft. Put oil on both sides(top and bottom) and pry it up and down to work oil on shaft to lube it. May take multiple applications of oil. When lever moves freely when stitch selector is operated then it will properly function on stitches. Reverse to reassemble.

if memory serve me correct there is some screws to loosen under the lid where tools is kept and a screw on l/h that hold the side panel that need to be loosend from top hidden under handle if top is off there is two small screws on r/h that hold the front panel but also two from bottom of machine holding same panel
