Going down very well but going up giving problem, stop again and again , taking ages for going up

The battery doesn't seem to hold a charge. I get get it to move in short burst. Any ideas?

Hi there...what your saying is a common sign that your stairlift main carriage batteries in the carriage are faulting and need replacing, these batteries only have a life span of about 3 to 5 years depending on wear and tear of the lift..The batteries in your stairlift should be 2 x 12 v.7.2 amp and widely available...If you are replacing the batteries in carriage yourself remember to switch the isolator switch off at the back of carriage first......hope this will help you.......paul.....portsmouth uk
