FIRST remove the electric plug from the wall! You need to strip off the top cover, by removing the three Philips screws from the High speed socket. This allows you to lift off the top plastic cover. Next you need to open up the machine, as in putting in the beaters. You will need to remove the tilt strap, there should be two Philips screws on a silver plate, now you can remove the mains wiring, from the black motor cover. Remove the drive belt from the larger pinion first. Next remove the three larger Philips screw that hold the motor in place. When you have wriggled the motor out, there are some plastic covers either side of the motor, held in with small Philips screws, carefully remove these and the brushes are sitting underneath, they have springs but aren’t physically connected to the plastic cover, so they may bounce about a bit when removing or refitting. Refit parts ain reverse order. Points to watch for include, making sure the plastic motor collar is the correct way round, the small white plastic washer in back in place. The black motor cover goes on BEFORE you re-attached the silver stay. Don’t over tighten the three screws that hold the black HIGH speed collar, they go into soft aluminium. The drive belt is best fitted on the motor end first, then pulled over the larger gear last
