hotpoint aqualtis AQGMD 129 fault F5?

Please help -no wash/rinse cycle ever finishes and flashes this fault code. water remains in the drum, the pump out doesn't appear to be working effectively as the washing remains soaking. the spin syle will not work. according to troubleshooting section in manual, could it be the drainage duct blocked? if so, can we locate this. could it be anything else?? we'd appreciate any help - thanks

We had same issue with fo5. Disconnect plug tip up machine so you can get under the front of the washing machine. Have bucket ready for lots of water! I got wet. You will need some good pliers.Disconnect the pipe which comes from the drum to the pump at the pump end. Make sure you have disconnected your power supply. Stick your finger into the pump hopefully you will find lots material remove as much as you can. After this refix the pipe and hopefully your washing machine will behave!

We had the F5 fault (our machine is the AQ149xx model but this may work), I removed the filter/pump cover at the bottom right side behind the bottom cover and found a pair of underwear in there. After I had removed it and replaced everything I pressed the 3 middle buttons whilst pressing the power button to reset the machine then turned it on. It worked perfectly. (Not sure if the 3 button thing was right but it seemed to work). It does seem to point to a drainage problem though.

many thanks for your reply martina. my husband and i have had a good look at the pipes, nothing seems blocked to us. according to other forums, could have been a faulty pressure switch. unfortunately, after purchasing this part, it didn't solve the problem. My husband is quite handy but we decided to get a professional in for fear of spending too much money on unnecessary parts. only problem is it;s xmas and engineer not coming til 4th jan, that's 4 wks without a machine and 3 children under 5!!!!!!! oh well, these things are sent to test us. Thanks for your reply tho, i appreciate your advice. michala

I had the same problem, it actually is a drainage duct block. On my aqualtis the technician worked on a duct situated UNDER the appliance, he had to lift the thing to reach it. Don't try to do it alone, have someone hold the machine steady for you. Good luck
