my renault espace 2.2 dci wont start but is clicking?

My renault espace stopped yday. I tried jumping it but no use and today I tried again. The key card opened the door the dash came on until I put the key card into the ignition and pressed the start button. The dash blanked except for the little red light and then the car started clicking but went off when I took out the key card. No lights are working inside except for the red light on the dash and a small bulb illuminating the pedals. I unsuccessfully tried to take out the battery to charge it.
