how can i fix my garmin nuvi 310 deluxe?

my sat nav does not get satelite reception, it looks in perfect working order and has not been knocked at all. it just does not get even satelite bars to function. i have tried the reset funtion and can still not get it to work.

please help, as i cannot afford to replace it.
