how do you ajust the tps on a 1989 cadillac deville 4.5

If its low on ATF it will slip cold and improve as it expands on warm up. Both forward and reverse are affected. If the filter is restricted it will get worse when hot. Also in Forward and Reverse. Switching off for a few minutes will momentarily work until restricted again.Too much ATF will cause foaming and therefore slip, again when hot. If the filter is clogged the trans is shot. Hey Rick: Your problem could be as simple as a cloged filter in the transmission, and then it could be the shifting bands slipping either way you need to have the transmision serviced by someone who knows what they are doing. the transmission can be a costly piece of equipment. so please DO NOT let just anyone mess with it. especilly on your caddy: Please! from one caddy man to another!
