renault espace 1998 central locking fault?

my key will not open my one and the pod put new bat's in it as well will still not open any one know how to get in to it??? it would help

We have a 1994 Renault Espace RT 2.1 and the locks have started playing up. I simply wouldn't know where to start to try and fix it.

The door lock is very stiff and after a few attempts of locking it, I come back and it opens really easily. But locking it almost immediately afterward proves difficult. I'm afraid of breaking the key.

The rear doors are not locking so I have to manually lock them. Is this a electrical problem or a mechanical one?

yep mine was the same 2002 model couple of conectors crimped on and job done . Thanks for advice ,bit wary on cutting the black rubber sleave but saved me a small fortune not using the renualt garage.

i have just sorted mine out the problem was the wires that run from body of the car to the door had broken at the point where they move when the door is opened and closed, there is a rectangular plastic clip that pushes up and then swivells out from the top you can then pull out the conector to then inspect the wires under the protective covering. i took the door panel off and removed the whole section of wire which also includes the speaker cables ,if you need any more help let me know, i also have a lock which includes the electric locking bit that i bought thinking this was at fault on mine ,it is the back passenger door if you need it.

i have just bought espace and i have same problem rear off side door doesnt lock have you had any luck fixing it?

now trying to sort out same problem on mine i have ordered new part for door will post instructions when i ve sorted it.
