Help to fix JVC Camcorder GR-D53EK problem?

Hi can anyone help - all of a sudden the screen on my JVC camcorder has turned black. The light works on the front and the camcorder appears to be recording but there is no picture on the screen. The screen works fine on playback. Any advice?

yes! its a common problem with JVC camcorders!
its a faulty CCD image sensor! MY JVC GRD20ek went the exact same way. But its cheaper to buy another than have it repaired. The parts are available online fairly cheap (£20) but are you apt enough to repair it yourself? Labour costs can be £60-£150+VAT+carriage costs etc.
