how can I fix my Suzuki Grand Vitara?

I have a 1999 Suzuki Grand Vitara Turbo Deisel and sometimes the glow plug light comes on at first turn of the ignition key but instead of going out it starts flashing. There is a "click" from under the dashboard and the car wont start. It eventually does go out after lots of attempts and starts normally. I have tried using the spare key,Putting the alarm back on and then off again, but it will only go off when "its" ready. I have had it diagnostic checked at an auto electicians and also at the Suzuki dealer but nothing shows up. I have also had new glow plugs fitted, It can happen both when the engine is warm or cold. Please can any body help.

failing that replace relay maybe a stand alone relay mounted in the engine management box usually locater under the bonnet around the bulkhead region , but its more likely to be mounted to a pcb board behind the dash,if all else fails try removing the board and inspecting the soldering around the relay pins for black traces and bad joints.you may want to resolder just in case.

I would think, bad connection somewhere, which would not show up on diagnostics. problem is finding it, you would need to start moving wires about, when it does it, to slowly narrow the area down, as click under dash, thats probably the relay for the glow plugs, check around that area first, give the wires a slight pull, if one comes off, could be that, as a slight pull showed not pull it free. make sure you can see where the wire connects to in case it does come off, you will then be able to refit it, without calling for a garage to do it. most spade terminals can be tightened by gently squezzing them together, to get a tight fit
