Mend Got 50 Amp

Jack tip got stuck in my Marshall 50 amp. How do I get it out?

Recently, somehow, the tip of the jack got stuck in the input hole, I can see it in there, but try as I might, I cant get it out. I spoke to a couple of professionals about it and they all said I needed to bring it into a shop to get repaired immediately. They also wanted to charge me $80 an hour to do this, which is ridiculous and I really dont want to lug this heavy amp a long distance to get it repaired.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how fix this problem at home?

If your warrenty has ran out anyway, just take it apart urself, the amp head will be like a tray where u can view all the parts. U should be able to see the inside of the input socket piece and just pull it out. Be carefull tho. best of luck

Simple; if the jack socket has a whole at the back, unplug the amp, remove the chassis and push it out from the back of the socket. If the rear of the socket is filled in then you will need to replace the whole socket and wire in the new one.
They are not expensive and can be obtained from any component supplier. Best if you can get one of the exact type, but any type can be modified and wired in.
Hope that helps.
