nissan micra cd installation?

I have a cd player to install into a 2001 Nissan Micra. i have purchased a bracket to enable ease of use from Halfords. the bracket doesnt work- I have queried this with Halfords but they insist it is the right part can anyone help please?

I was told by halford to get pc2-13-4 connector for my micra 1996 model as it has a radio in it and i want to convert to a cd player. They said i only needed that lead. They are wrong!!!! You do need that lead but also another to fit into that which then fits into cd player perfectly.

thank you very much steve and rich- I now have the right part! But, as always with these things- its not that simple. I have connected the radio to the wire adapter, then to the car- and this fits perfectly (thanks again) BUT now I have one black wire (think it could be a power cable- the existing radio wont work without it- so therefore the new one doesnt have a chance- you probably think im simple by now- but could you give me any clues? Its a Nissan Micra (old shape) on a 2001- Auto S. - original radio was and still is a blaupunkt tape/radio.

The part number you need if you mean the wire adaptor is PC2-13-4, if thats not the problem and your trying to fit the unit once the old unit is but the front facia part of the dash back and and screw it all up again and then take the cage of the head unit and place it in the hole where the radio used to be and then secure the taps and then place the unit in, if its none of them then i have no idea?

the mounting hardware has 2 brackets- one of 10 pins- another of 8. Halfords gave me a bracket to connect from these brackets to the new cd player. the connection between this new bracket and cd player is fine but the connection to the actual car hardware isnt- the halfords bracket has only 10 pins- i must have been give the incorrect part (it does state that it is for a Nissa micra 2000>. Can i attach pictures to this chat to show you the problem?

If you remove the existing unit, there is usually mounting hardware attached to it. This can then be used to install the replacement unit. What are the exact problems you are experiencing?
