How do I get free protection that requires no registration??

I was wondering how do I get absolutly protection for firewall,antivirus and spyware. I dont have a credit card so I can't register of anything. I have 3 instant messengers and on my yahoo I.M. people love to hack my computer and do this and that and they claim they can see me through my digital camera because its hooked up to my pc. So I just block and delete them. When I am on the internet I get popups about firewall,antivirus and other things. HELP I need answers!!!!

lol.. ok a good place to start is www.grisoft.com They do a lot of good free software (AVGfree for antivirus) and there are also free firewalls about. Remember Windows XP sp2 comes with a simple but effective firewall. Microsoft also do a free download called Windows Defender. This is an anti firewall program!

No one can use your cam unless you specifically have given access to do so. Check your MSN / Messenger settings to make sure youi haven't!

Use Linux instead of Windows. It's free. All the software is free. Security updates are free. It doesn't suffer from viruses. It has a firewall as standard. You can try it on your PC without removing Windows, to see if you like Linux before you install it permanently. Although such demos run slowly, once permanently installed, Linux is usually faster than Windows.
Go to http://www.ubuntulinux.org/ for a version of Linux which doesn't need a techie person to install it.

In short the best but free products are:

Avast - antivirus
Spybot search and destroy - anti spyware and adware
Zone Alarm - firewall protection.

If you have WinXP turn ON Firewall and Automatic updates. You do that from Start, Control panel and click Firewall icon and Security setting icon.

AVG Antivirus is good and free for home users.

Windows XP has a good Firewall built in if you happen to be using this.

www.download.com is a good source for these utilities. You can filter by free items.

Avast! antivirus is very good and free for home users. No credit card needed.

SpyBot is free and will take care of most of your spyware problems.

Just google and you'll find both of them easily.

you can get Zone Alarm for free ( a good firewall program) you dont need any credit card to register, just an email address.
