E3 error on Baumatic BDW45.1 thermostat replacement?

The tray that covers the wash pump/heater/wiring etc right at bottom of dishwasher. Almost on the ground when dishwasher is standing up. The thermostat has to be attached to the under side of the stainless sump. Not sure about your exact model but some Baumatics have it mounted just above the wash pump and some have it mounted at right rear of sump above the heater element. Follow the wires from the heater & see if that leads to the thermostat.

Hi there. Thank you very much for the response. Sorry if this is a stupid question but what exactly do you mean by the bottom tray? I've looked all on the underside of the machine but couldn't see what else I could remove that would give a view I couldn't see with the side panels off. I looked all above the heater element etc but couldnt see anywhere where the thermostat was attached.

Lay the dishwasher on it's side & take off the bottom tray. Be careful about the flood switch & float attached to the tray. The thermostat is attached to the underside of the wash tub floor. In contact with the stainless steel so it can measure the heat. Have you determined that the fault is caused by the thermostat. No heating can also be a faulty heater, faulty wiring from control board down to heater or a fault with the control board not switching the heater on. Have you tested everything with a multimeter?
