What is wrong with my Exbury EBY15 electric fire?

I have had the above fire for about 3 years and only use it for the flame effect on winter nights. This year when I switch the flame effect on it lights and works for on average an hour and then switches off. I have given the fire a good clean but it is still the same. Can you advise what the problem is and how I can fix it.
