cantilever parasol rib broken?

my aluminium parasol has a broken rib. It is the lifting rib which connects to the parasol canopy rib, right at the point of swivel pin connection.

Either buy a new parasol or mend the one you have.

Buy a piece of metal - steel is stronger - from a DIY store.
Drill each end and fit it in place of the broken rib.

Alternatively make a splint to join and strengthen the broken rib - drill through both each side of the break - at least two holes each side of it. Screw the splint to the rib.
