What causes water to overflow when filling Hoover Washing Machine?

First check if inlet valve is shutting off ok. Start wash cycle and allow water to flow in for a few seconds then pause cycle. Water flow should stop immediately. If it continuous to flow in then valve should be replaced. Try several times, starting and stopping flow. If water shuts off ok then check the air pressure tube from the bowl to the pressure switch. Look for holes or cracks that can allow the air to escape.
