Hotpoint Future FF187E -black box & wires off the compressor?

Neville - you need to give some thought about how many people will actually read your question and of them how many will have the wiring diagram you seek - I suspect nobody.

You mention two wires one of which you call an earth.
An earth wire is ALWAYS striped Green and Yellow.
Earth wires seldom if ever have spade terminations - invariably a more secure ring connection so that they can't fall off.

I suspect very much that your green wire is not an earth.

The compressor motor will require AC power - it will not matter which way round it gets connected .

You do not describe the terminal connectors other that to say you have several options - which is not helpful.

In your situation I would just connect up any old way and hope for the best - the worst that might happen is that you could join live and neutral together with no load - and blow a fuse.
