Washing machine trips red after 15 mins of use ?

My son has a EWX147410W Electrolux washer drier , after 15 mins use it trips the rcd , I suspect the water heater is faulty , it is built in & I would like to diagnose the fault before dismantling the kitchen / machine .any suggestions , once the rcd is reset machine carries on ok.

Yes - if the machine allows a cold wash then run that programme - if it trips on a cold wash it will not be the heating element causing the problem.
