renault master 2.5.timing belt lost teeth at crankshaft only?
Van cut out at 30 mph tryed turning over fuil filter started to leak tryed tow no good took cover off belt got all teeth on apart from the ones at crankshaft
Those teeth are likely to have been lost after continual attempts to start it . The starter motor turns the crankshft, the crankshaft pulley splines then destroy the teeth on the seized belt. The pistons will almost certainly havesmashed into the valves.
The belt is supposed to be renewed every 72000 miles in normal use. How many had yours done?
