I have a Proline chest freezer.Model number C i40-Z
Serial Number 13517082.
about three weeks ago the warning light came on and over about a week the temperature climbed to zero
We emptied the freezer defrosted and cleaned it We then switched it back on and the temperature returned to zero and has stayed at that for the last ten days. I feel the thermostat has gone and i would like your advice. thank you
Faulty thermostat or loss of cooling gas. If compressor motor is running for excessively long time & temperature won't go below zero then it will be a gas problem. If compressor motor shuts off too soon before getting down below zero then suspect a faulty thermostat. Freezer should be down to at least -16.
