Kenwood FP520 Food processor?

The drive belt has broken. How do I get the base cover off. The 6 screws are out and the cowl cover to the drive spindle but I can't get the base released far enough to get into the workings. What do I need to do?

Thank you

Maurice

You smash it open and ppthrow it out of your window then you put it in fire there you go

Peters solution works but how on earth do you put it back together again having placed the belt I can't get the vent screws in.

1. Remove the 5 screws from the base
2. Remove the dome at the base of the main shaft , push up with a flat blade screwdriver
3. Through the grill at the bottom, remove the 2 chrome screws. A pt1 pozi will do this
4. Now remove the base
5. Lightly grip the motor drive spindle with grips
6. Turn unit upside down
7. With another pair of grips turn the white plastic cog at the other end of the motor shaft clock-wise.
8. This will release the motor
9. You should now see how to fit the new belt

I tried my hardest then found if after opening all the bottom screws then there is another underneath inside the vent. You hold this whilst on the top you turn the bit on which the liquidiser sits clockwise and this will allow you to seperate. Even I waas trying to put small screwdrivers inside to release the plate inside until I realised

I am facing the same problem. Did you find a way to get the bottom plate off?
