How do I reset my wireless Siemens RDJ10RF thermostat?

"I have a wirelss Siemens RDJ10RF thrmostat with RCR10/433 receiver.""The lights on the receiver have gone out. When I push the reset button on the receiver an amber light flashes but nothing else happens. Advice please?"

I have a problem similar to the above, I have a Siemens thermostat and receiver not sure of the make and model, the battery on the thermostat ran out (the screen went black and I replaced the batteries and the thermostat now works again), as a result of the battery being low the central heating was on continuously for 2 weeks as it was not communicating with the thermostat properly (it's a rented house they only just told me).
Currently there is a red light flashing at the top of the receiver. Earlier on the amber light was on, next to a picture of a broken circuit. (I don't think this is on any more).
Lower down it says "do not press this button unless communications failure". I pressed this, as I thought there HAD been a communications failure due to the battery having been running low and finally completely flat. I think at that point the amber light may have gone out (I'm not there now but when I was there I did not write down "amber light on" so suppose it wasn't on anymore), but the top button was still flashing red.
I turned the thermostat up high to test whether the boiler was now receiving the signal, and boiler did not indicate that it was heating radiators. so it is not receiving the signal although the thermostat battery is now functional. I think it needs to be reset but I don't know how to do it. Anybody know? Thank you very much.

Well we worked it out, you press the long thin button and the button which inset in a little hole with a biro or thin point, at the same time, for about 5 seconds. That seemed to do the trick. The reason the heating had been on all the time was because they had set the night setting the same as the day setting!!
