cctv?

Yes I know its not an alarm but its security along with an alarm.
Two detached bungalows side by side both face south with court yard frontage no gardens and 7mt separates the two and up a 54m drive ours being first.
Neighbour having 7 cctv cameras installed and the cameras went up yesterday !9th Nov. we have a problem with one of two on the side which because of the roof soffit overlap of 18inches the camera facing front is facing our sun room windows. Can I get this moved as it infringes my privacy?. speaking to them yesterday with his wife's attitude I don't think I have much chance unless I get a costly solicitor and my pension don't stretch that far.
Thanks

Pro installers should know, enforce and meet the DPA and HRA requirements by utilising electronic masking anyway.

Thanks to both of you
I had a word with installers they said they will shield the area so it doesn't show the sun room. How it works he said you reduce the angle of lens coverage and it comes on screen as a black shield so only their side of the drive to garages shows. When its up and running I will ask to see what that particular camera shows.

You could also as for the area of your property to be "masked out" so it is not viewable nor recorded.
You could offer to pay half the call out to have this done, unless they fitted themselves and then they could do it anyway.
Assuming the DVR has this capability.

There are no privacy laws in this country. There is no such thing as invasion of privacy and it's not against the law.

One way round this, however, could be to try the Protection from Harassment Act 1997. A course of conduct which someone knows or ought to know amounts to harassment is illegal. (Harassment includes alarm and distress). So, if you communicate to the neighbour (once a month in writing and keep copies) that their camera is causing distress to you then after a while you'd be able to show a course of conduct. This would be an offence and therefore you would have some recourse to the Police.
