Hope someone can help me this is a odd one on replacing my battery found that the live red wire was going to the negative terminal. I know this should not work but the bike had been ok since I bought it. On putting the new one in with terminals in the same position the new battery is blowing main fuses what is going on.
Red (+) to the starter relay and black (-) to earth. No other combination or configuration will work on your bike.
Positive earth motorbikes are usually old vintage machines like BSA and the like (I had a couple).

Mark connect black to -ve terminal on battery[to frame] and red to +ve on battery[to fuses etc].sounds like the two batteries have opposite type terminal posts.this will sort your problem.
