Built-in siemens microwave oven cuts out?

This appliance is correctly installed, yet trips at will - sometimes after 2 minutes, sometimes longer. It has already been replaced by a new unit, with the same problem. Can anyone please help?

I have a Neff built in microwave (same unit effectively) which has started doing exactly the same thing. The bulb flickers, there's a buzzing noise when you open the door and the light comes on and then when in operation it trips out frequently.

if it cuts out then you know the microwave is faulty did the engineers not do this ????/

if it works when its sitting on your worktop then you know its an airflow problem

could be an airflow problem try removing it from the cabinet and switching it on

The appliance just cuts out....not the power

Thank you very much!
This appliance (and the replacement) was brand new and tripped (i.e. cut out) from day 1. The Siemens people have been out to view it about 5 times, but still no solution!

you do not say if it trips the power or it just switch off please clarify

Trips?

If it trips a miniature circuit breaker (MCB) it either takes too much current or the MCB is faulty - or (most unlikely) other equipment and the uwave combine together to exceed the rated load for the MCB.

If it trips an earth leakage residual current device (RCD) then the oven may have a fault - it may be a design feature common to all similar ovens (doubtful) the RCD may be faulty or improperly specified or the wiring to the appliance may be defective.

Significant is the fact that two similar appliances fail in the same way.

You do not say if anything has changed recently - new fault - new oven - new wiring - was there a time when the fault didn't happen?

If it were mine I would consider calling in an electrician to check the integrity of the circuit that supplies it - insulation resistance.

Others on here may give you better answers and in fewer words - I am not qualified or experienced in these matters - not a certified electrician.

Good luck...
