Why is the interior light in your fridge not working?
A betting-man would put money on the failure being caused by a broken filament in the bulb itself.
Others might bet on a switch malfunction or perhaps a wiring fault - but the smart-money would be on the bulb.
An inquisitive person would remove the cover and access the bulb to check its integrity. Others, such as yourself, might pose the question to strangers in the hope of a sensible answer.
