stannah 260 curved stairlift?

hello, we have got a stannah 260 model, when on charging contact , the charge light flickers and beeps, we have put new batteries in as the stairlift wouldnt go up, Now it does with the new batteries, also when stairlift travels up or down , it beeps all the way up and down,
could any 1 help, or might know whats wrong, Stannah wants £165.00 call-out, thank you in advanced
