How can I fix my technics sl-pg570a CD player ?

I hope some one can help. I purchased a second hand technics sl-pg570a CD player recently. Unfortunately it seems I was had over or it was damaged during courier as when a cd is inserted "no disc" is displayed. I can't even hear the disc turning at all and cd comes out in exactly the same position. I've read some advise on net mainly pointing to a dirty laser, I have cleaned the laser as advised but its still exactly the same.... Any help would be much appreciated.
