When I turn my F420 on I get an automatic red sign saying there is a focus error. Haven't dropped it and have tried turning it on and off as well as charging the battery to full. Anyone have any suggestions?

mine got the focus error after i dropped it, then i just dropped it again and that fixed it :) the focus is still slightly dodgy though

Thanks people, my Fuji finepix z2 just got focus error read your advise , gave it a thump on my knee just now. and yes its fixed.
How long it will be ok, who knows but it's working now so that's great.

fujifilm AV100 brand new, taken about 4 photos and now it had FOCUS ERROR on it?

its when the lens moves or jams probably when it gets knocked. my camera had the same have a look to see if the lens is off centre it may click back in on smaller cams failing that drop it! seriously a lot of people say it works tap on a knee on all sides and it usually sorts it out lol its worth a go it its busted anyway and it worked for mee

i had the same problem on my camera. i cleaned the usb socket on the side and it now works every time

In my case it can't be.
My camera took a beating... dropped many times.. been traveling with me
Rather use it than keep it in a draw ; ).

has there been a solution to this problem yet, my camara came up with the focus error about 3 months ago then managed to fix itself, now it wont and keeps giving this focus error.
