i can not get the saw blade screw off my circular saw (Craftsman) I think ?

i can not get the screw off my craftsman circular saw. I brought it to Sears and was told it would be $130.00 to have repaired. I think I paid 60 for the saw.

I think the screw is stripped.

This might sound daft, but if its just very tight, try locking the blade up & try turning the screw the opposite direction than normal, it just might be a left handed set screw.
