cpu working but nothing on screen?

It looks like your video card died, or is heavily unseated.

First, disconnect the computer and open the case.
Remove the video card and put it back in place.
Restart the computer.
If the card was unseated, this should correct the problem.

You may try the card in another computer to be sure. If there is no display on the other computer with your card, then, the card is realy dead. You need to install a new one.

Unless you are into heavy gaming, any mid-range card will do. Those are good for everydays tasks and casual gaming.

REMEMBER THIS: When doing ANY work inside a computer, you MUST disconnect the power cord. In the case of a laptop, you also must remove the battery.
