The machine is driven by a 240v motor but some ( ex Boots the Chemists) had a 12v check plate on the motor will have type on itif its 12v hard luck!
When motor bar is pressed it makes switch points and cycle stop pawl drops to allow motor to drive main shaft via the gearbox.
Check the motor brushes under their white caps.
The register shoult turn over without power(try pliers on handle shaft on r/hand side of the machine)
The Sweda was the Rolls-Royce of cash registers and i spent many years working on them till the last on was built in 1976.
