Look for a pair of round sockets marked audio "Line Out" (usually red/white). If available you can connect a stereo RCA phono lead from 'Line Out' to the socket on your amplifier marked 'Line In', 'Aux' or 'Ext' Input. This is the best option.

Rarely, but some TV's (eg. some Philips models) may require that you turn on the audio line output on via the Menu System.

Alternatively, some UK TV's may have audio out available from the scart socket although the socket is likely already in use, in which case you can obtain a Scart Lead to Scart Lead with additional RCA Phono sockets hanging off it, for this purpose.

(PS. Only use the RCA Phono sockets or Scart Sockets for connections. Never connect a TV Speaker Output directly to a Hi-Fi Speaker Oupput, as both will blow).
