my heating and hot water needs fixing?

Hello,i have a myson orion boiler. we had an extension and the boiler had to be moved a few feet. before this we had hot water,and heating was controlled by the timer. Now i can only get hot water if i put the heating on,by the thermostat. i have got some advice off a plumber,he said something to do with electrics and that it needs to have a switch over. i dont have a maual. Please can you help as its costing me a fortune. i do have an electrican friend,but he asked for a manual.
