Qualcast Suffolk Punch 30 carb linkage problem?

The throttle link has come adrift. The other end of the throttle link which goes into the engine cowl has slipped off what it should link to. What does it join onto and do I have to remove the cowl and clutch assembly to reconnect it. Obviously it is suffering from wear is there any way to stop the link disconnecting regularly.
