To begin with, there is NO SUCH THING as an 'OVERWOUND' watch !! If it will not 'GO', SOMETHING is broken !! You can wind a watch 'to the top', ie. (as far as it will go) and if all is well, it WILL go ! How CAN it be 'Overwound' ? If any excess pressure is put on the winding crown after it is AS FAR AS IT WILL GO: SOMETHING will break ! Therefore, it is NOT 'Oerwound' it is BUST !! Good luck with it !
