I used a pair of scissors on my gerber multi tool to get that odd screw out. I closed the scissors just a bit to get a grip around the screw and voila! Try a small pair of scissors and that should help.
I just took apart my Scunci Steamer today and that worked wonderfully. Hope that helps!
